Saturday, July 12

This last week in the church has been a fantastic, productive and busy one. We had two teams working through us in that time and they couldn't have been a better fit for the job. One of the teams was here from Charlestown, Indiana. They had a group of about twenty including six or so children. They were able to replace the old yellow celling tiles in most of the church as well as really fix up the children's room directly behind the fellowship hall. Again they did a fantastic job and there is no way to measure how grateful we are for all the work they've done. The other team that was here last week did not stay with us here at the church but in a local hotel. They put on baseball clinics in four different locations around the city in the three days they were here. The kids had a blast needless to say and were very excited to be a part of this activity.

This week we are welcoming a group from Severns Valley, Elizabethtown, Kentucky. They are a team of 32 and have tons of awesome events planned for the week including another parents night out and even a bicycle rodeo. We are praying for their work and having faith that God will continue to use these teams to touch the live of our community.

June 28th thru July 5th

This week we have an awesome group from Westport Road Baptist, Louisville, Kentucky. The team consists of a seven people, all very dedicated and interesting. Among there plans for the week, VBS is lined up over at the South Baltimore Recreation Center. Also several of the guys are trained sound technicians and electricians among many things and they are going to be working on getting the sound system in the sanctuary working correctly. Thank God. Its going to be an awesome week

June 21st to 28th

Last week was a great one. We had a large group from Lexington, Tennessee. They put on sports/soccer camps in the Sharp Leadenhall park as well as in the South Baltimore Recreation Center and everyone had a blast. Also during the week they had a group responsible for beautification which consisted of picking up trash, weeding a local park. Wednesday night we held a fun fair in the elementary/recreation field and had a great turn out. The group put on puppet shows and served free hot dogs, snow cones, and pop corn. Friday we spent the day in Washington DC visiting the Smithsonian museums, Arlington Cemetery, and several large monuments. The group did an awesome job and they touched dozens of lives including the staff here at the church.

West Jackson Baptist Choir from Tennessee

Today we welcomed the West Jackson Baptist High School Choir to lead us in worship. The group sang favorites like "Jesus, Savior, Friend," "Who am I," "Soli Deo Gloria," which means "To God Alone be the Glory," and "Great is the Lord Almighty" and they where phenomenal. We thank them so much for coming, especially on Father's Day.

I hope everyone is heading out to the Federal Hill Jazz and Blues Festival tomorrow! We will be handing out water somewhere on Light Street. The temperatures are supposed to be in the 90's so we hope it will be a great way to serve the community. We will also be sponsoring a childrens booth with face painting! If you find yourself at the festival stop by and say "hi". We would love to meet you!
